Cool kid

Come the 'end times', this kid is going to be in high demand...way more than someone who knows how to make the latest retweet app or something equally banal.

I love seeing the 4-H kids at The Big Ex. Also, it's nice to see that naming your teams Bright and Lion has not gone out of fashion, nor will it any time soon. Boi da sweet doiyin jeezus.

Traffic Jam!

Well, at least the kind of traffic jam we get 'down home':

A herd of ~30 cattle were being moved from pasture to pasture, down the highway...in front of my house ^_^

The Big Ex: My favourite canteen

If you live in the area...unless you live under a rock, you know that The Big Ex is happening this week.

We ventured out last night to scream on some rides (all rides were only one dollar!), snap some fun pics and of course, visit my favourite canteen.

As you can see, it is a popular spot, check out the crowd waiting for their grease!

We were stuck behind the world's best birth control: a screaming child. Oh well, at least it wasn't mine!

If you eat one thing at The Big Ex, try this canteen's fish and chips. Actually, just get a piece of fish for $2. You will not be disappointed.

While we were waiting for our food, I snapped some shots of the staff. Looks like they are one big happy family at this canteen. Most of them managed to keep a smile on their face while we were there. I'm sure that took some effort, it was hot and crazy busy while we were there.

Stay tuned for more shots from The Big Ex!

Almost 'all the way'...

Spotted on the back side of Crescent Beach a couple days ago after a great afternoon of kite buggying on the beach.

A thankless job

Pavers and roofers are a different breed. I don't know how they do it. The smell, the insane heat. At least the clouds rolled in yesterday, hopefully it provided some relief for these guys.

The man in the foreground wasn't too happy with me taking this picture, but as I told him, "ya gotta take the shot!" I tried to not brighten this image too much, just enough so you can begin to see their faces...

On a related note, lots of road work in the Dublin Shore/Crescent Beach area, so leave lots of extra time if you are trying to catch the ferry.

Bivalve'n!

Spotted on the back side of Crescent Beach on a glorious Saturday.

I'm not sure if they are digging for clams or quahogs, some form of bilvalvia, that's for sure!
