I can't keep track of all these storms

I do know this shot was taken Oct. 30th, whether or not this windy day/storm had a name, I cannot say...as a local surf shop owner would say: "...typical Hirtle's beach closeout...."

Chercher un abri contre la tempĂȘte

Spotted yesterday at Hirtle's.

Let's see how badly google translate did with the blog post title, anyone?

Posts will be sporadic over the holiday period, hope ya'll have a good break!

Crowded?

Depends who you ask. Locals who love this spot died a little inside Nov. 11th when upwards of 15 people descended...things were quieter when I arrived.

Crowded? Perhaps by South Shore standards, anywhere else in the world, eh-no.

Magic hour

More gorgeous magic hour light shining through the waves, it was easy to get nice shots that evening!

Sunny waves at sunset

The setting sun created some gorgeous backdrops for the two surfers in the water that afternoon. Magic hour was in full effect that day.

Earl shots - pt. 3

So frustrating to watch these bigguns roll in from shore...and me without a jet ski!

I tried auto white balancing this shot in Gimp, which is why it's not as dark as the two previous shots.

Its name was Earl

Saturday afternoon, hours after the eye of Earl passed over the South Shore.

More shots to follow in the days to come!

Lines 'o' colour

I like the how the lines of colours turned out. There are thousands of periwinkle shells littering the shoreline on this point, so neat!

Splash!

No, not the Darryl Hannah "Splash!".

Shot last night...some of the boys, out at the spot, trying to catch the shoulder, and avoid the big seal that was lurking in that area. Word is, the ocean is warming up, almost time to shed the winter suit and don the 4/3's!

I am happy I captured the seaweed getting tossed up in the air in this shot. I missed a bunch of other opportunities, so I'm glad at least one turned out. ^_^

Sun!

The warm weather today made me think of this sunny shot from last week. Looks like this weekend is shaping up to be a nice one, get out there, folks!
