Burn Permit

Riverport, NS
April 30, 2013

April showers bring May flowers, is there a rhyme for April bonfires?

I love how ghostly the figures look in this image, as well as the contrast of the sodium street lights on the left with the new LED street lights on the right.

Try as we might, we were not able to get the fire big enough to burn off the encroaching fog bank.  Next year....

Another day in the clouds

Upper Kingsburg, NS
April 24, 2013

A typically foggy Spring day down by the coast.

Warm air temps and cold ocean temps produce lots of fog.  It is often quite the contrast from inland locales where it is sunny and warm while it is cold and foggy behind the beach.  I wouldn't have it any other way.

At the very least, all that moisture in the air must be good for my complexion, right?

Infinity Bridge

Confederation Bridge
Somewhere over the Gulf of St. Lawrence
March 2, 2013

A foggy bridge crossing made for a neat infinity effect.  Man, that bridge seems to go on forever!  Doesn't help matters when you can't see the end of the structure, nor much over the side.  Those concrete walls are the perfect height to shield most car drivers from the 'dangerous' view over the side.

Of all the gas stations, in all the towns, in all the world...

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Esso's neon sign actually works! Shot this Friday night. As you can see, a very foggy night in the 'burg.

Some tick o' fog

A thick bank of fog, hanging over the usual spot, stretching from Lahave over to Riverport.
