The early bird gets the worm AND...

Caught some nice light this morning, tried bumping up the colour saturation in some of the pics, hope you like 'em!:
nice zucchini blossoms and neat pointy cabbage!

When the sun shines....
...they make hay....
...and we get traffic 'jams', south shore style. Well, not much of a 'jam, just stuck behind a tractor with hay baler in tow for a minute or two:
Count your blessings that there are still people who know how to make hay! Come the end times, the ability to grow fuel for animals will no doubt become a valuable skill...mind you, not sure what we'll do with all these derelict diesel machines lying around...I'm sure we'll figure something out, right?
The light was nice 'n' warm last night when I got home, so I snapped these two shots, figgered they fit in with the haying theme:

Nothing like a good feed of clams
Digging for clams used to be an annual ritual for my family.
Every summer, my grandparents would secure their 'usual spot' at Little Risser's campground. Under the tutelage of my grandfather, we would extract the clams from the Petite Riviere clam flat, using a plunger of all things!
But, it's been ages since those days, that clam flat has been closed for a long time. It's a constant reminder of my past when I see people digging for clams and quahogs around the South Shore.
Here is a nice bucket full of soft shell clams spotted this past week at a local beach. Apparently it's a long hike to get to the clams, but well worth it once the clams are boiling in the pot!

Bye bye, clouds!
What is that hot, glowing orb in they sky this morning?!?
Today's picture sums up the last couple weeks (at least)...lots and lots of clouds, with the occaisional glimpse of blue sky buried in there...somewhere...
