Some good 'ole sand seal burnin' (or is that melting?) at the beginning of the Watford Rd. Looks like I'll have to survey the Northfield Rd. for other recent offerings:
Conquerall Mills Road (Conq. Bank to Conq. Mills) May 23, 2008
This road is not for those with 'low rider' cars, it's a real pounding for your car's suspension system....still, those who dare venture down this cratered side road reap the sweet reward of fresh burns:
A nice, long burn at the intersection with the Lakefield Rd. (heads towards Lake Centre) and the Conquerall Mills Road.
Further down the road, we are met with the Mark of Zorro!!
The many hills on this road leave lots of opportunities for spinnin'
A dark patch starts this short burn up a hill
A good example of 'rutschin'. It must be quite the art to swerve, burn AND stay out of the ditch.
If I were a cop, I'd hang out on this road on the hour/half hour catching folks (like me) who drive like a maniac trying to catch the ferry. Last Thursday, I was actually early, which left me time to snap some pics of the recent burns on this road:
This area is a common hot bed of activity for brake burns. These burns showed up within a week of the previous offerings. S.T.O.P. Spin Tie'yahs On Pavement.
Driving down the Lower Branch road last night, I saw a couple people walking along the shoulder and swatting around their head...I knew they were swatting black flies, but I didn't know how BAD they were until I stopped to take these photos. The flies were HORRENDOUS!
Fresh brake burns, black flies, lawns dotted with yellow forsythia and daffodils and pink/white magnolia blossoms....it must be spring:
What is it with people doing brake burns in front of churches? Is it the Lun. County equivalent of saying "tabernacle" in Quebec?
Spotted tons more burns this morning, stay tuned for the latest in South Shore 'street art'...
