I was kicking myself for not capturing any of this pre movie laser show at the Valley Drive-in the last time I was there, I made sure to record some of it this past weekend.
Here is a taste, a couple clips for your viewing pleasure!
Brake burns, church suppers,
fireman's breakfasts, truck tractors,
surfing and all the other things that
make the south shore great!

Greenfield Planked Salmon Supper
Seems like this year's salmon supper and last year's were both roasting hot. Let's just say that the a/c was a nice break from the sweaty, muggy air outside...
As usual, it was a big crowd at this annual event. We got our tickets and this year we were smarter about waiting....we took our folding chairs and waited down by the river for our numbers to be called. It was really nice by the river in the shade, with a cool breeze blowing. Time flew by and before we knew it, we were heading in to get our grub.
The same faces greeted us, doing the same jobs each year. The same woman wiping off plastic trays, the same woman with her hand painted "planked salmon supper quality control" hat handing out plates of salads and bread, soon to be loaded up with the 'good stuff':
What can I say about this supper that I haven't said before? The fish is obviously the reason to show up, the rest of the stuff on the plate....I could take it or leave it. The McD's orange drink is fun for nostalgic reasons, but kinda tastes like ass....the potato salad and coleslaw taste like they came out of a big bulk bucket...but that salmon, the fire braised surface of that meat, amazing!
Stay tuned for the upcoming planked halibut supper at the end of August, a must attend event!

Berry Burst Salad Luncheon
Berry Burst Salad Luncheon
Trinity United Church Hall
Rose Bay, Lunenburg County
Tasted as good as it looks!
The chicken salad appeared to be made from scratch, and not canned 'flakes of chicken', a welcome surprise! Nestled on a piece of leaf lettuce accompanied by a slice of orange cheddar and small tomato slice. The potato salad was average. The cranberry jello was a fun side dish, though maybe a bit redundant with the shortcake dessert. Now to dessert...
Frozen strawberries were a let down, but at least the one on top of the 'whipped cream' was real. Mind you, I've ordered this one before and knew what to expect...still, you'd think they could get fresh berries considering they're in season?....
To top it off, also got a Kool Aid drink 'pouch', what a fun addition! All in all, another delicious luncheon, delivered to my workplace, who could ask for more?
