What's on this weekend? Fish Cakes!

A mixed bag this weekend. Breakfasts at the Parkdale hall are always great (the maple syrup usually comes from next door ^_^). But I salivated when I saw the fish cake brunch listing!

Salt cod fishcakes, baked beans, sauerkraut salad, dessert, coffee/tea.
Adults $10, youth $5, under 5 free.

Mmm, puddin'!

Spotted at the Lunenburg Slave Easy, dropping off a shipment of that delicious Lunenburg Sausage and puddin'. People seem to hate L'burg pudding, but I love the stuff!

I hope people keep painting houses this colour

This house makes me smile. It will be a sad day for me when most houses are painted in historic/colonial colour schemes. Boooring.

Bring back aqua, pink and kelly green house colours! ^_^ Stay tuned for more local examples of fun house colours in the following weeks.

A lone offering this weekend, head to Riverport Saturday morning for some great grub (the beans alone are usually worth the trip!).

Saturday night at 'the hall'

Walls and ceilings clad in wood, antique light fixtures hanging from the ceiling, votive candles on the tables, ....and the sweet sounds of Klarka's voice filling the room.

Saturday's show at the Broad Cove Hall was a welcome respite from the winter blahs.
