It's been a while since I've posted here, thought this shot was worthy of jump starting the 'ole blog again.  This is my first sighting of a redpoll, I think I'm in love.  What a cutie!!!

I spotted this beautiful bird Friday morning on my drive to work.  

There were two sopping wet eagles on the shoreline.  I quickly brought my car to a standstill on the shoulder and scrambled to find my camera.  

This one was drying off after a night of heavy rain.  The other eagle was eating....something.

A common sight these days, geese on the move.  Somehow I got them to line up nicely with....lines.  words.

F-I-S-H-I-N-G.  Actually, they were just sitting there, enjoying the amazing, warm Fall day.  What a beaut!

There's critters in them thar hills...and ditches

I spotted these muddy footprints crossing the road the other day.  Looks like this lil' critter managed to cross the road without getting hit....this time.

Backyard Birding: Song Sparrow

I'm really enjoying bird watching lately.  I often sit in the car and shoot birds at the feeder, or in this case, in a brush pile.  


Next challenge will be to get some shots of the elusive Rose Breasted Grosbeaks that have visited our feeder!

I love the bright yellow of the male American Goldfinch. I get very excited when I see them at the feeder. Yellow!!!

Look who I met yesterday....

Spotted yesterday in a field on my lunch hour walk...it had the whole field to itself, and as you can see...no shortage of apples to feast upon. ^_^

Birding: Purple Finch/Chickadee crosstown traffic

The purple finch and goldfinch at the feeder weren't concerned by the chickadee's attempts to get some seeds. Poor lil' guy.

I love spotting goldfinches and purple finches at the feeder! I hope I can snap a shot of the gorgeous ring necked pheasant that has been hanging around the yard...

Birding: Song Sparrow

I've been having fun with my telephoto and the bird feeder. I'm pretty sure this is a song sparrow, still learning!

...majestic as all get out.

Looks can be deceiving...

Pretty little plant...unless you are an insect and you happen to land on it.

The sundew plant will slowly close its tendrils as it digests its victim.

Carniverous plants, love 'em.

Foxy fox

Spotted by Risser's Beach provincial park on Friday.

It didn't seem to worried by my presence, looked a little ragged and hungry.

I wonder if it lives in the dunes behind the beach?

Awwwwww!

Spotted this cute lil' fox in Kingsburg last week...

It sure was tame! I assumed it would run away when I got out of the car to get closer. But no, it walked towards me at that point!

Apparently it is a mix of a red fox and silver fox, what a cutie!

Here comes Peter Cottontail....

...hoppin' down the bunny trail...

Spotted in the yard last week, early in the morning.

That wabbit was pretty wet from all the morning dew on the lawn!
