Birding: American Eagle!

I spotted this beautiful bird Friday morning on my drive to work.  

There were two sopping wet eagles on the shoreline.  I quickly brought my car to a standstill on the shoulder and scrambled to find my camera.  

This one was drying off after a night of heavy rain.  The other eagle was eating....something.

These seagulls were tenacious, to say the least! They performed repeated strafing runs at the eagle's head!



Occasionally the eagle would look up, as if to say, what__the__eff?

What's on This Weekend? ...and an eagle!

First, the pics! I had to do a double take when I spotted this bald eagle yesterday evening. Just hanging out...gazing at Rose Bay. Then it started getting dive bombed by sea gulls!

As far as food this weekend, what a list! It looks like it's lobster weekend, judging by the offerings on deck. Also, looks like the weekend to actually call and book tickets to these events as several warn that they routinely sell out.

Champagne brunch in Broad Cove looks intriguing. Lobster sandwiches in Petite sound delish. For those that want a bit of entertainment to accompany their vittles, check out the horse/ox pull in Lake Center...
