After a riveting evening of watching miniature pony races, I snapped this shot from the stands before leaving the exhibition grounds.
My favourite fish and chips stand is in the foreground: Italy Cross and Middlewood Fire Department!
To be honest, I have never heard a carnie utter those words. I wonder if this guy has heard of sunblock? Methinks....no.
This was my only mild success with speed blur shots at The Big Ex this year. Not that much speed blur, but at least I captured the elation of a carnie riding the 'ole pirate ship.
Front runner for the saddest face at this year's Big Ex. I saw her standing alone on the midway, drenched in ennui and I had to take the shot.
Another candid shot from The Big Ex midway. I imagine this scene went something like this:
"Want to go on this ride?"
"Whatever...let me update my tumblr first..."
The Zipper always seems to be the ride that has a carnie kicking at cotter pins to hold it together...oh, and did I mention the spinning cages? I'll take 'no' for $1000, Alex!
I wish I had taken some long exposure shots of the sparks on the ceiling of this bumper car ride, oh well, the sign will have to suffice. Enjoy!
Hmm, this could be a guidance counsellor poster...we would have also accepted titles like "Just hangin' out..."

Whether or not the face is listening...usually not.I love this guy, so expressive!
Gaping pie hole, that is.It was too easy, all I had to do was point my telephoto lens at this guy and wait for the shot.
I'm glad I captured the midway at dusk, more of these shots to follow.I just noticed that the center of the ferris wheel makes a smiley face. ^_^
