Mmmmm....puddin'.

Err, make that sausage...this sign has come and gone quickly, sounds like Dept. of Health has been cracking down on backwoods purveyors of sausage, puddin', etc...what gives!? I accept the risks when I buy meat processed in someone's kitchen. It's like I have to tell the government I'm all grown up, I can handle it..

For those that are curious, the ocean's temperature (May 5) was 6 Celsius
. Suprisingly, not as cold as it sounds..

Chester skate park: more shots

If you like what you see, check out my other skate park shots...

The light and shadows were sweet that night...until the po-po showed up and cracked down on the skaters for not wearing helmets...oh well, live and learn, I guess...

I wish someone could explain the 'civic gangs' in this county...I'm assuming VOC stands for "Village of Chester".

Other local groups include "the LBC", aka Lunenburg County (?) and "the TOB" aka Town of Bridgewater.

Really? That's the best you could do? C'mon kids, thug it up, yo! (0_o)

Check out these other skate park shots taken by my friends...

Chester skate park: kids still all right...

If you like what you see, check out my other skate park shots...

No crazy bmx stunts like last time, here's a before and after shot of a recent pic:

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church Variety Supper Review

Surely, the person coined the phrase "good things come to those who wait" must have attended the First South variety supper!

The last time we attempted to attend this supper, we arrived, looked in the door and saw this crowd waiting to be seated and promptly turned around and left:

This time, we knew what to expect and prepared ourselves for an epic wait....And lo, it was epic...

There was live music being played by what I assume was the church choir. The crowd knew all the words to songs like Tipperary, so the time seemed to pass by quickly as the many voices rose up singing. While I was waiting, I tried to take some candid pictures of the crowd, here's one:

Many, many hymns and one dog walk later, we finally got seated...it was well worth the wait! I was seated in front of a big, chocolate table cake, so tempting. Our server took our orders and brought us refreshing glasses of grape Koolaid to slake our thirst.

We noticed many familiar faces from Lunenburg at this supper, from skating rink staff to Save Easy staff to local hairdressers...all were in attendance.

Potato, 3 bean and a strange carrot and french dressing (?) salad were on either side of me...various jello salads, plates of squares, platters of meat and bread completed the array of deliciousness on the table. See for yourself:

Roast beef, Lunenburg pudding, some amazing ham and pork...oh, and beef tongue. Yeah, we weren't feeling that brave..

Mmmmm...jello salad....

Oh squares, how can I deny you?

Our hot plate items were baked beans, scalloped potatoes, goulash (good 'ole elbow macaroni, ground beef and canned tomatoes!) and hot slaw. I ended taking a fork of each items from the comfort food compass of food on my plate for each bite, simply delectable:

(Note the choco cake looming over my plate)

Long story short, it's worth the wait for this supper...don't let the long lines dissuade you from checking this one out next year.

I think I'm still full from this meal!
